Project-palooza!

It's project time around the May house! Here is what we've been working on this week

*painting Ezekiel's room
*painting a wall in another part of the house
*painting Ezekiel's bookshelves
*painting 2 wall hanging things

Do you see a theme? Once I start painting, I find all sorts of stuff to paint before I put away the paint. It's just easier when I'm in the painting frame of mind. Here are some photos to document my progress.

Ezekiel's room...done! (At least with phase 1. I have 2 more phases to complete before the walls are done.)

Before (Ezekiel's room used to be inhabited by a girl)

Bookshelves...work in progress. I LOVE how they are turning out, though. The remaining wood is going to be white.

One of the hanging things...done!

This is something special because Nathanael's dad made it for him when he was a boy. It was a darker colored blue. My goal is to have something that each of Ezekiel's parents and grandparents have made hanging in his room.

The other hanging thing has only been primed, so it's not very exciting right now. Pictures of that will come later. We also painted another wall brown, and I'll post pictures of that later as well.

You are probably wondering how we were able to paint Ezekiel's room in only 2 days, with a toddler running around. I'm happy to announce that his first sleepover and Grammy and Poppa's house was a success! He left on Monday morning and returned on Tuesday late afternoon. He must have had a good time, because when I greeted him and Dan and Robyn at the door and reached for him, he turned his back on me. I did get a nice smile, though, so that made it better. It didn't bother me...instead, it made me happy that he seemed to have such a good time. I foresee more sleepovers in our future!

In some older news (last week), Ezekiel really likes to wear the bag that my mom made me for Christmas. He's watching baby signing time.

We had a Superbowl party on Sunday, and we had a great turnout! I was a little nervous about the seating, but no one seemed to mind the floor. It was definately the most people we've had in our house since we moved in.

The food spread was awesome

One very important topic I missed here is my birthday. For now, you'll have to be content with knowing that it was a rad birthday, although it's a little weird to be 34. I don't feel 34. More to come on the birthday festivities!

Until next time,
Misty

I love the colors that you are using in your home. I alway tell people that 'it is only paint' when they are afraid to try a new, possibly bold color. My house is definitely a house of many colors....... BTW, that little Ezekiel is so cute, he looks very proud of walking by Poppa.

I second Norma's comment. LOVE the colors! That food made my stomach growl. Thanks. Can't wait to see you in a week!

I love your idea of putting something special from each grandparent in Ezekiel's room. How neat! Love the paint colors too - great job!!
