*Last Monday, I had a half day of training for Home Instead. I took the boys over to Julie's house. They had a lot of fun playing with her toys and pool. Apparently, Atticus fell asleep in his lunch. He's never done that at home before.
*On Tuesday, I took the boys to the waterpark in Wilsonville. I was hoping Kyra and the girls could come, but it ended up being just me and the boys. We only stayed for a little over an hour, it was HOT. As it has been every day for a LONG TIME. Ezekiel was really enjoying it from the beginning, but Atticus took a while to warm up, and then he liked to wade in the moving water, but not much more than that. It's funny how long the warm up period is for him with some things.
*On Saturday, we went to the Carpenters for a Fourth of July BBQ. The boys were up later than perhaps they have ever been. The fireworks display was long and big. Atticus cried the first few minutes, but he loved it after that. "Fireworks fun!" he kept saying. Ron built a makeshift slide and pool, which they both loved as well. And Atticus took a real liking to the mud around the pool. Before he was distracted by the pool, all Atticus wanted to do was sit in all of Ron's vehicles. The cab of his truck, the lawnmower, and 2 tractors, to name just a few. He really loves vehicles of all sorts, and gets so excited about riding in any vehicle.
*We went disc golfing on Friday and Saturday mornings. Friday, we went to Greenway, but we tried a new place on Saturday. I love our family disc golfing outings. I hope we continue to do it for a long time, and it becomes a family tradition for us.
*We bought a new (to us) car on Friday! Nathanael did lengthy and extensive research, and we found something perfect for us! We are so happy to have another Honda Civic. Nathanael is so great at finding cars for our family, and I'm very proud of his work. We have had the Element for over 7 years, and we still love it. I hope this Civic is the car we will teach Ezekiel how to drive in.
* I made ice cream on Friday! It is so HOT.
Peace, love, and summer days,
Misty
