Day 17 - April starts with No Coffee

I have a shelter in place goal for April. I have 22,000 emails in my inbox. If I delete a thousand every day, I will have an empty inbox by the end of April. This will be amazing.

Today, we ran out of coffee. This is monumental, because this has never happened in the history of Nathanael’s time in coffee and our marriage. We have never even come close. Or had to even think about actively bringing coffee into our home. It’s just…always there.

One of my biggest struggles these days is wishing the boys were more independent. They want me to do everything with them. EVERYTHING. We went for a walk around the block this morning, and I was able to get them to take a second lap around the block by themselves. It was amazing. And on top of that, they quizzed each other on math facts. This was my biggest success today.

We went for a long family walk tonight. 2.1 miles, to be precise. The ENTIRE time, the boys talked constantly. It was as if we hadn’t seen each other all day. Or all day yesterday. Or the day before. Or for the last 16 days. Atticus laid out the entire plot of Angry Birds 2 for me. I really love our family walks.

Stay tuned to see if coffee will be forthcoming to our home. Nathanael rode his bike to Lionheart twice today and came back with an empty backpack both times.
