The rain is good for the grass. It makes it more green, and I like that. In addition, I sprinkled some of the rock beds in the backyard with Preen, but it needs water within a couple of days of sprinkling it for it to really take hold. That was like a week ago. Hopefully it will still work. Also, it makes it seem more ok to still be in my pajamas at 1:40 in the afternoon.
On the other hand, I left a wheel barrow and a box full of dirt in the back yard, which is now mud, I'm sure. I don't know how I'm going to fix that. Also, it seems that there is a leak in the window frame in our bedroom. There is a towel soaking up the drips now. It looks like I'll be placing a call to our landlords.
Ezekiel has been sick. I took him to the doctor last Thursday. He said it is a virus, a.k.a., a common cold. But it's not fun. It's so sad when he coughs. And he spits/throws up much more often now, which results in lots more laundry for me. He is still in pretty good spirits, most of the time, though, which I'm thankful for. Incidently, he now weighs 15 lbs, 5 oz.
Well, my first Mother's Day has come and gone! It was a good day. Ezekiel bought me a movie, "The Blind Side". Nathanael bought me a new bible. It was our first Sunday in Folsom in a long time, and it was really nice to be there. We went out to lunch with the Mowrers to Dos Coyotes, and I took a nap in the afternoon. After evening services, we went out to dinner with Zac and Rochelle Brown, and Ron and Kathy Carpenter. That was a nice time too.
I got my Magic Bullet out today and learned how to use it, and washed all the parts. I've been meaning to do that for a while now, since I am going to use it to make baby food. So now I know how to do that, I need to come up with my plan for solid food for Ezekiel. He's had rice cereal 3 times, but I stopped when he got sick. So when he's better, I'll start that again every day, and start with some other things as well.
Whats going on in Ezekiel's world:
*He's doing this thing where he opens and shuts his palm, raking his fingernails across everything - my skin, his sheets, or anything else he comes in contact with. It doesn't feel very good on my skin.
*He's starting to get a little ticklish in his belly. That's fun.
*He can hold on to his pacifier now. More often than now, I find him with his thumb stuck all the way up into his pacifier, sucking on his thumb and the pacifier at the same time.
*His hair is unstoppable. And it seems to be getting lighter.
*More often than now, I find his rolled over and sleeping on his tummy in his crib. It is so cute.
We received our court date for the final adoption hearing. It will be August 20th in Texas. So as of that date, Ezekiel will officially and legally be our child, and we will be his parents. Exciting!
