We have returned from our much anticipated trip to Houston with great news...Ezekiel's adoption is complete and final, and he is officially Ezekiel Philip May! And now, the fun part - birth certificate and social security card.
Our time before judge Ronald Pope was brief; maybe 5 minutes. But it was a joyful and exciting 5 minutes. We were blessed to have Nathanael's Grandma and Grandpa May and Aunt Trish there with us.
Ezekiel's first trip to Cracker Barrel ensued. The trip was short and exhausting. We traveled on Thursday, were in court on Friday, and traveled home on Friday. Ezekiel did pretty well on the flights...but it's hard traveling with an infant no matter how good they are, hence the exhaustion. But I feel like I'm finally caught up on my rest.
We were excited to have Debbie and Amanda, Ezekiel's birth grandma and birth mother, come to visit us while were were in Houston. It was a very special time, one that I will treasure in my heart forever.
While we were in Houston, Ezekiel started getting up on all fours and trying to move. At least, thats what it seems like he is trying to do. And he's been doing it ever since, I know he's going to figure out the crawling thing here very soon.
I'm busy planning our adoption finalization party now that we are home. It will be on September 11, and we are having Texas themed cookies, because I saw the cutest Texas themed cookie cutters at Sur le Table a while back.
It's nice to be back in Oregon which, incidentally, is starting to feel a little bit like home.
