Catching up on 2019, part 1

I have a lot of things to talk about. I haven't kept up to date on events this year, so I will have to summarize things more concisely than I would like in order to catch up. In list format, as I like it.

  • The first weekend in March, Nathanael was in New York. I took the boys to Winter Carnival at White Pass, Washington. We met up with the Burgharts there, they go every weekend in the winter. It was a lot of fun. We took sleds and the boys played with the sleds, we inner tubed, they ate cotton candy, and at night, we watched the fireworks show. I opted out of snowboarding myself. I feel like I'm past that stage of life. It doesn't really sound like fun anymore. I actually sold my old snowboard for $25 a while ago. We stayed the night at the Cowlitz River Lodge in Packwood. It was a nice, lodgey sort of place. The boys loved the continental breakfast the next morning. Overall, a great experience, and I'd like to do it again next year. I had really been hoping to take the boys for a weekend in the snow, and I was happy to accomplish this.
  • As if winter carnival weren't enough fun in March, we had a cub scout pack overnight trip to Great Wolf Lodge the weekend of March 16th, while Nathanael was in Kansas City. My mom joined us, and it was a lot of fun. I wasn't sure if I was going to like taking the boys there, or if it was just  going to be a money pit. But it went really well. It helped A LOT that all the boys wanted to do was play in the water park. I think we clocked 5 and 6 hours each day in the water park. Atticus' favorite thing was the biggest water slide and the hot tub. I don't remember what Ezekiel's favorite thing was, but the second day he found some friends and did some things on his own. He played water basketball a bit with Nana. I got them each a small gift in the gift shop, but there wasn't too much the boys were asking to buy. The next time we go, in September for Atticus' very belated birthday trip, we will probably spend some time in the arcade. I enjoyed the experience, and I'm looking forward to going with Nathanael and the boys in September!

Coming soon! Spring break, Palace Coffee, and much more!
