30 day Challenge: day 27 & 28

Day 27

my tools:
I'm not sure, exactly. I forgot to take a picture. I'm pretty sure I used 'phloof!' again. I'm really loving that color.

Day 28

Saturday was a flop. I'm sure I put makeup on, but I don't remember what is was, nor did I take a picture. How sad is that? It was only the day before yesterday.

Only 2 days left to blog about!

Until tomorrow,
Misty

30 day Challenge: day 25 & 26

Day 25

Today I used a palate of cream eyeshadow, which I have never used before. It's another one that I've had for a long time, and although it looks like I've used it, I honestly cannot remember ever using cream eyeshadow. I kind of liked it. It helps that I have a good brush to apply it with, and I like how it made my eyes look kind of "wet". Sounds weird, I know.

my tools:
*Bath & Body Works illuminating eye gloss 'almond cream'
*Bath & Body Works illuminating eye gloss 'birch'
*e.l.f. eyeshadow palate 'butternut'
*MAC loose irridescent eyeshadow (a sample)

Day 26

Today was a very special day. We are spending a few days up north, staying with my mom. My 3 year old niece Ruby and I had some time together yesterday, and so I decided to include her in my challenge. She picked out all of the makeup and I put on everything that she wanted me to without using a mirror, and then she put it on as well. I think this is my best day yet.

my tools:
many, many lip glosses, lipsticks, and every sparkly eyeshadow I own.

picking everything out

what we'll be wearing

Ruby. I didn't even ask her to pucker. She already knew thats what you do when you pose for the camera when you have makeup on.

pretty girls

Only a few more days left!

30 day Challenge: day 23 & 24

Day 23

This is a little Lancome palate that I've had for a long time, and never use. But I kind of liked it.

my tools:
*MAC paint 'bare study'
*Lancome eyeshadow 'bronze'
*Lancome eyeshadow 'chocolat brule'
*Lancome eyeshadow 'gardenia'
*e.l.f. eyeliner 'gilded'

Day 24

I'm surprisingly pleased with how well this turned out. It's one of my favorites, which is hard for me to say, since it includes using Maybelline.

my tools:
*MAC eyeshadow 'phloof!'
*Maybelline eyeshadow 'berry chic'
*Maybelline eyeshadow 'chic fruite'
*MAC eyeshadow palate

Are you getting tired of my face yet? Don't worry, my 30 days is almost over. I'll be glad too. It's fun, but a lot of work.

Until tomorrow,
Misty

30 day Challenge: day 21 & 22

Day 21

my tools:
*MAC eyeshadow 'phloof!'
*MAC eyeshadow 'aquadisiac'
MAC paint 'bare canvas'

Day 22

I did the same thing this past Sunday as I did the one before. I did something new with my makeup, and in my hurry to get to church, I did not take a picture in the morning and then forgot the rest of the day. We'll see if I can break the cycle this coming up Sunday.

However, I thought you would like to know that Ezekiel has really gotten into my 30 day challenge. Only instead of applying eyeshadow to his face, he likes to eat it.

(nice boogies)

Until tomorrow,
Misty

30 day Challenge: day 19 & 20

As ever, the weekend put me behind, but only in my blogging.

Day 19

I have no rhyme or reason for this ensemble. It's just what happened.

my tools:
*MAC paint 'bare canvas'
*MAC eyeshadow 'expensive pink'
*MAC eyeshadow 'hepcat'
*MAC eyeshadow 'shimmermoss'
*MAC eyeshadow 'aquadisiac'
*URBAN DECAY eyeshadow 'oil slick'
*MAC eyeshadow 'vanilla'
*MAC eyeshadow 'phloof!'
*MAC loose shimmer eyeshadow in a irridescent color. It's a sample.

Day 20

My inspiration for today came from my tiny pot of glitter. Nathanael bought this for me a while ago. He picked it out all by himself, I was so proud of him. Unfortunately, what I'm coming to realize is that much of what I am doing does not translate well to pictures. Which points to yet another, more accurate problem, which is that I do not know how to do my makeup for the camera. It seems that if I have learned anything about that, it can be summed up in this one word. MORE. More makeup for the camera. In person, I'm wearing a lot more makeup than the camera is picking up.

My point is, you can't see the glitter in the picture. Just know that it is there, and that I love it, because as I apply it, it settles on my eyelashes, and then I have glittery vision for the rest of the day. I like it when the world is glittery.

my tools:
*MAC paint 'bare canvas'
*MAC eyeshadow 'phloof!' (this is becoming a favorite, can you tell?)
*MAC glitter 'reflects very pink' (I don't know if this is the name, but this is what the sticker on the bottom says)
*URBAN DECAY eyeshadow 'oil slick'

I hope everyone had a nice weekend!

Until tomorrow,
Misty

Friday, January 21, 2011

fill in the blank friday.

1. My favorite quote is I don't really have a favorite, but I really like this one that I posted a while back. I found it on one of my favorite websites, Zen Habits.
"Being present is absolutely essential for experiencing and appreciating the small joys of life. Instead of always thinking of the next thing on our to-do list or itinerary, being present allows us to recognize and enjoy those small moments of joy as they arise."

2. A bad habit I have is cracking my knuckles. I know, it's annoying and gross, and I hate that I do it. Nathanael hates it too. I really should stop.

3. The first time I felt like a "grown up" was when I owned a house. I can't think of a particular moment, but owning a house made me feel pretty grown up.

4. Weekends are awesome because Nathanael is home. I love being home with Ezekiel during the week, but it's even better when the three of us are home together.

5. When I was a child I wished my name was Theresa? I think. I'm not really sure, but I do know that I went through a phase where I hated my name, and wanted to change it. I think it was Theresa because I have a Cabbage Patch doll I named Theresa.

6. I wish I could sing. I mean, I can sing, and I do it a lot, and I love to, but I wish I had a beautiful voice. I'd take a voice like Amy Winehouse or Joss Stone, if I could choose.

7. A secret I have is I failed the knowledge test when I went to get my Oregon drivers license 2 weeks ago. I thought it was going to be easier than it was, and I didn't do any practice tests or study at all. I just went. I'm going to try again tomorrow, and I've read the whole manual cover to cover (or at least, I will have done so by tomorrow morning at 8am). I hope I pass. It will be really embarrassing if I fail again.

Have a good weekend!

Until tomorrow,
Misty

30 day Challenge: day 17 & 18

Day 17

On Tuesday, I tried to work with this orange shadow that I have. This color has always been a challenge for me. And I didn't have any more luck today. I looked more a halloween decoration than anything else after I was finished.

my tools:
*MAC paint 'bare canvas'
*TRUCCO eyeshadow 'orange crush'
*TRUCCO eyeshadow 'white nightie'
*MAC eyeshadow 'swimming'
*MAC green loose shadow. I don't know what it is called, it was a sample.
*MAC irridescent loose shadow. I don't know what it is called either, it was sample
*Urban Decay eyeshadow 'oil slick'

Day 18

I've always thought that blues look the best on me. The sad thing is, I don't have many blue MAC eyeshadows. In fact, I don't think I have any. So whenever I want to go with a "blue" look, I have to use the inferior blue eyeshadows that I do have. It's a travesty, really.

my tools:
*MAC paint 'bare canvas'
*MAC eyeshadow 'electra'
*MAC eyeshadow 'vanilla'
*MAC eyeshadow 'phloof!'
*MAC eyeshadow 'hepcat'
*some generic, no brand blue eyeshadow

In other news, we got our first produce delivery today! I've been so excited all week. We had produce delivered from a farm when we lived in California too, and we just signed up for a service here. We are getting a small box plus a baby add on every other week. I'm never as excited to eat fruits and vegetables as when they are delivered to my door. For some reason, they just taste better.

Look at all of it!

Until tomorrow,
Misty
