30 Day Challenge: introduction, and more

To kick off the new year, I've decided to participate in a 30 Day Challenge. I saw this on the little things we do, and while the official participants will be doing video blogs daily, I will be foregoing the video part for a regular old photo blog. I'm not quite there yet with the video blogging. I'll leave that to Nathanael for now. Anyway, here are the ground rules:

1. select a challenge
Each blogger will select a 30 day challenge. This can be anything you want to do for 30 days. But it should be measurable by the day... as in "I will practice the piano for 15 min each day" vs "I'll play the piano more". It doesn't have to be big! It can be as simple like flossing or tough (at least for me) like doing yoga every weekday. Pick something that you really want.

2. post a video each day for 30 days with your progress
Did you do it? This blog is meant for honesty. Talk about if you did it or not. What your thoughts are. Was it fun? Did it suck and you hate it? Be honest. You are allowed to fail... this is real life and we are real people. Perfection is not expected.

3. try
Try your best.

I've already fallen behind, because I started on the 2nd, and I've done 4 days of my challenge, but have not yet blogged. Oops. So you get 3 days of challenges, along with my introduction in one blog!

Introduction

1. Your name, job, where you live
My name is Misty May, I'm a stay at home mom, and I live in Beaverton, Oregon.

2. State your challenge
My challenge is to do my makeup differently every day. Not necessarily something I've never done before...just something different every day.

3. Why did you pick this challenge?
I love make-up. Doing fun and interesting things with my eye makeup is something I enjoy, and I find it is one of many ways in which I can express myself. I have quite a bit of makeup (although I always want more), but I don't feel like I ever fully utilize what I have. I think this challenge will help me with that.

4. Do you have any worries or doubts about how you will do on this challenge?
Yes. I tend to not follow through on things like this. And I've already fallen behind, so I'm afraid of getting so far behind that I'll just quit. But I'm going to give it a try. I'm also afraid that I will run out if ideas.

5. Do you need to do anything special to prepare for this challenge?
No, but it would be nice to have more makeup. Maybe I can squeeze a new eyeshadow or something out of the budget.

6. What do you hope will happen by the end of the 30 days?
That I will have re-inspired myself to do my makeup in fun and creative ways, and that I will have even more ideas in my makeup bag of tricks than I had before.

7. anything else you want to share?
I have a book that I got for Christmas several years ago called "Making Faces" that I intend to use for ideas and tactics, if I get stuck.
