I was a working girl on Thursday and Friday. I was supposed to babysit Josh and Anna on Tuesday and Thursday of this week, but they have the flu, so Joy cancelled on me both days. So on Thursday, I went into the law firm from 1-6, and on Friday 8:30-5. Mary Ellen watched Ezekiel on Thursday afternoon, until Nathanael picked him up after work. It was my first time leaving him with a non-family member, and I was kind of nervous, only because I wanted her to enjoy it, and for him to be a good boy. I think he was, she said he was an "angel". Which he is, most of the time. I can already tell that he acts differently with me than he does with other people. Not in obvious ways, but subtle ones that I can't even put into words right now. On Friday, Nathanael stayed home with him. He called me at some point before lunch, and said, "Please help me, I don't know what to do", which kind of freaked me out, but he just couldn't get Ezekiel to stop crying. Which he did eventually, after a while, and they had a good day the rest of the day.
I started reading The Baby Whisperer this week. I've heard from several people that it is good. So far I like it, it is much easier to read than Baby Wise.
Robyn and Megan got here tonight. Robyn will be staying until next Thursday, which will be fun.
I don't think I'm mistaken that Ezekiel smiles a tiny smile at me when I play the kiss game with him. I get a smile for maybe 1 out of every 20 kisses I give him.
I talked to Amanda this morning, she received the results of Ezekiel's newborn screening tests. His cystic fibrosis test results were abnormal, and so I'll need to take him in to get a sweat test done, to determine if he has cystic fibrosis. I don't feel too upset about it, because chances are he doesn't have it, or that he is just a carrier. Amanda is a carrier, but she doesn't even know if Rich is. And both parents have to be carriers for a baby to have it. So I'm feeling ok about it right now. I know God will provide and take care of us, whatever happens.
I love how Ezekiel squeaks in his sleep. It is precious.
